The Grand Rapids Cabinetry Guild is a design process and a customized experience that results in contemporary kitchens and baths.

“We are focusing on the contemporary look in this project because of the resources we have available to us in Grand Rapids/West Michigan,” says Mary Witte of r.o.i. Design. “This is local initiative, creating cabinets in West Michigan for West Michigan.”

Dooge Veneer is a local distributor with a wonderful selection of veneers. They have identified 20 veneers that we can use as “standards”; but any of their veneers are available to use in creating a fantastic look in your cabinets. (www.doogeveneers.com)

The Taylor Company is a versatile company focusing on solutions in furniture, contract casework and specialty wood products. They have a large facility on Eastern Ave. and the Grand Rapids Cabinetry Guild is of interest to them as it fills capacity that under other economic circumstances wouldn’t be available, and they are also perfecting their abilities in innovation and collaboration.

Williams Kitchen and Bath and r.o.i. Design are both Grand Rapids companies whose corporate offices are both in the near NW side.

The Grand Rapids Cabinetry Guild is committed to sustainability
Not only are all products built in West Michigan; the standard veneers are FSC certified by Dooge Veneers. The Taylor Company will use only environmentally friendly cores for the select veneers and will use ultra-low VOC water based finishing methods. All projects will be blanket wrapped, saving on packing material, and delivered and installed to the sites by The Taylor Company.

The process is intended to be customer friendly and customer engaging

The initial meetings with the client can happen almost anywhere; at your home, at Dooge Veneer, at r.o.i. Design or a place of your choosing. At the initial meeting the team for your project is determined and a proposal to cover design costs will be presented.

The design process will include visiting your home, drafting a design, selecting materials and accessories. After the design is complete, the project will be estimated and a contract will be created.

The process continues with your visits to Dooge Veneer, and The Taylor Company to review construction documents, final finish questions and to see your cabinets come to life.

Williams Kitchen and Bath will provide all countertops, most of which are staged at their Richmond location.

The installation team will visit your home and discuss with you the plan of installation. If you are going to purchase new appliances or plumbing as part of the project, we would be happy to help you coordinate those trades.

For budget purposes only, a Grand Rapids Cabinetry Guild project for cabinets, countertops and installation will range between $700 and $800 a running foot. (Not including appliances, plumbing or any wall finish materials)

Lead times range from 1-3 weeks for design, 4-6 weeks for fabrication, and installation is based on the size of the project.

Williams Kitchen and Bath and r.o.i. Design are the founding members of the Grand Rapids Cabinetry Guild. They are joined by Dooge Veneers and The Taylor Company to offer you this unique experience in kitchen and bath design.
